Extend the amount of light your chickens are exposed to in the winter months by adding lighting to their coop. The solar lighting kit is supplied with the necessary equipment for you to easily add solar powered lighting to your chicken coop, with the option of adding additional features if needed.
This system is supplied with an 8 Watt LED bulb and pendant style bulb holder which can be mounted to the ceiling of a chicken coop. The solar-powered chicken coop light kit includes a 25 Watt solar panel, solar rechargeable battery, battery enclosure, charge controller, timer, and necessary interconnecting cables. The system will allow for up to 4 hours of illumination in the winter months. The timer can be adjusted to select the time the light turns on and off. A weather proof battery enclosure is included, which can be installed outside or inside. Additional equipment can be added to the system but will require a larger solar panel and battery; please contact us for more details. The LED light bulb typically last for up to 20 years so there are no bulb changes. Color of most parts of the system is gray. Color of light output is white or warm white.

Battery Box
A plastic weatherproof battery enclosure is supplied to accommodate the battery.
The battery enclosure houses the battery, charge controller and timer.
The battery box has a removable front which is lockable (padlock not included).
The battery box also houses the charge controller controller.
The battery box is approx. 10.5" x 8" x 4.5" (27cm x 20cm x 12cm) LxWxD.
Solar Panel
High quality 25 Watt solar panel is included.
The solar panel is fitted with approximately 10' (3m) of cable/cord.
Additional cord is available as an optional extra.
The solar panel cable connects directly to the battery box.
The solar panel support is supplied with a fold-out 'U' shape bracket which can be used to mount it to a suitable surface.

Control Module
This solar-powered chicken coop light kit includes a MPPT charge controller which regulates and manages the solar panel power, battery power, and illumination time.
The charge controller is housed within the battery enclosure.
The charge controller is pre-programmed prior to shipping.
The MPPT charge controller increases charging efficiency by 30% and provides more advanced light control options.

The solar panel must be installed in a location where it can receive full direct sunshine (when available) and usually set facing South at an appropriate angle (where adjustment options allow). The solar panel must not be installed in a shaded or part shaded location and never indoors. The standard specifications of the system (particularly the solar panel Wattage and battery capacity) may need to be adjusted. These components are determined by your geographic location, power consumption (LED Wattage) and the total amount of hours of illumination time required. Such changes to the standard specifications may increase or decrease the cost shown. Please contact us for more information or assistance. The illumination time is estimated and subject to various factors including (but not limited to) geographic location, seasons, temperature, weather conditions & location of product etc. The illumination time of most solar lights can reduce during winter months when the weather is poor and the days are shorter. During this time insolation hours decrease accordingly. Shorter illumination time due to one or more of the above factors does not define the product as being ‘defective’ or ‘not as described’. All solar lights must be used in a completely dark location at night time otherwise they may not illuminate. Nearby strong lighting sources or ambient lighting may affect the operation of a solar light. This does not define the product as being 'defective' or 'not as described'. Please note, if you do not install or use this product for several months the battery may discharge naturally on its own. By allowing a battery to deep discharge it may cause irreversible damage as the battery may then lose the ability to recharge or hold a full charge.
